A Priests' List of Halicarnassus

Signe Isager has recently published a new fragment of the list of Priests of Poseidon from Halicarnassus and associates this fragment with the one preserved in the Garstang Museum of The University of Liverpool. This paper, the result of a collaboration between Isager and Oliver, explores the association of these two fragments (CIG 2655 (= Syll.3 1020) + Bodrum Museum inv. Nr. 67). Discussion will consider the discovery and reception of the stones, late Hellenistic Halicarnassus, and the history of the cult of Poseidon and the city’s history.
